You can take the girl out of New England, but not the small town out of the girl...

At 16, I was accepted to Bentley College, where I earned a Bachelor's Degree in Finance. I continued my education at Northeastern University, where I tailored my Master's Degree in Technical & Professional Writing with courses granted me through its Business School. I worked my way through graduate school by teaching Freshman English courses at Northeastern, and relished in my dream internship at Fidelity Investments, Boston.

While my friends were soliciting jobs from The Big 8, I sent my resumes out West, targeting San Francisco's Financial District. I packed up my car, drove westward in 1988 and have lived in the Bay Area since. I've gone from sunrises over the Atlantic to sunsets over the Pacific, and still call both coasts home.

My first San Francisco job was at Bank of America, where I developed a standardized reconciliation procedure that I helped implement nationwide. I consulted to Citibank, Industrial Indemnity Financial Corporation, Industrial Underwriters and NORCAL Insurance. Then, I accepted an Instructor's position at San Francisco State University, while developing and teaching private writing courses for engineers, lawyers and business professionals throughout the Bay Area.

In 1991, I moved from San Francisco into a charming, two-bedroom Victorian in Montclair. One little boy later, and this tiny home proved too small for my growing family. My husband and I searched for over three years with a local Realtor, and wrote many offers, to no avail. A light bulb went on: I grew up in a family who built/renovated their own homes; my finance background focused on banking and mortgage lending; I was skilled in reading dense legal documents; I knew where I wanted to go.

Three months later I became a Realtor. I joined Coldwell Banker, where I made the accolades of the Diamond Society, and found a home with a lovely yard, just a couple of miles away on the Piedmont side of Montclair. My husband, two boys and I have lived there since, and enjoy being part of our small-town community.

My best move, though, has been joining Montclair Better Homes Realty, in early 2006. Here, I can focus on our community, while providing my clients an exceptional level of commitment, satisfaction and service. I'm thrilled to realize I can still teach daily—from guiding a first-time Buyer through the 'legal-eze' of disclosure documents, to crunching numbers and advising a family who's ready to sell their home and move on to their next. It is here, I help show my clients...home.

When I'm not driving about in my Mini, you can find me cheering on the soccer fields, digging in my vegetable garden, cooking, writing or reading about food. Curling up with a book and a boy always warms my heart, as does searching for seaglass along the Cape's sandy shore.
